The public was greeted by the brand new livery of the two Hypercars, celebrating the centenary and 30 years of PEUGEOT’s victory at Le Mans.
The action on the track started on Sunday, June 5th. The sun was shining and creating an exceptionally warm atmosphere (27°C) on the day of testing and crowds of fans flocked to watch the first laps of the 62 entries at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Round 4 of the FIA ​​World Endurance Championship .
Mikkel Jensen/Paul Di Resta in PEUGEOT 9X8 #93 and Loïc Duval/Gustavo Menezes in #94 had the honor of doing the first laps of the two hybrid-electric Hypercars at the legendary circuit. Jean-Eric Vergne and Nico Müller, who are in Jakarta for two rounds of FIA Formula E, will drive on track on Wednesday 7 June.
The two cars showed positives during testing allowing the teams to work on different sets, long stints etc. PEUGEOT 9X8 #93 (Mikkel Jensen) set his best time, clocking 3:30.427 during the afternoon session. PEUGEOT 9X8 #94 (Gustavo Menezes) set his best lap in 3:31.093.
Team Peugeot TotalEnergies will now return to the track again on Wednesday 7 June for free practice (FP1), followed by the first qualifying session at 19:00.
