The society of Imathia is in shock – Schools in the child’s village are closed today as a sign of mourning by decision of the municipality
Unspeakable tragedy was noted today in the village of Stenimacho Imathia as one 8 year old boy died.
The child, who had a high fever, was taken by the parents to the hospital in Naoussa. There the doctors diagnosed that it might be a virus.
According to laikoyra.gr, the parents took the child and left, however, he developed a fever again, so they took him to the Naoussa hospital again yesterday.
Yesterday morning, further tests showed that the child must have left immediately to a hospital in Thessaloniki, specifically to Hippocrates.
From Naoussa an entire enterprise was set up so that the child could arrive as quickly as possible at the Hippocrates hospital with police, doctors and an ambulance. But the child did not make it, resulting in Sunday afternoon.
Meanwhile, the mayor Naousas Nikolas Karanikolas, sent condolence message on the death of the student from Stenimahos Imathia, noting that as a sign of mourning the primary school and the kindergarten will remain closed closed today, Monday, June 12.
“I would like to express my warm and sincere condolences myself personally and on behalf of the entire municipal authority to the family, relatives, classmates and teachers for the loss of our little student from Stenimahos. Our thoughts at this time are with the child’s family, to whom we express our undivided support”, says the mayor of Naoussa.
