A total of 12 parties participated in the process, seven more than those that secured their entry into the Parliament, in the May 21 elections
The Inter-Party Parliamentary Elections Committee met on Monday, June 12, with an expanded composition, under the Chairmanship of the Acting Minister of the Interior, Professor Ms. Kalliopis Spanou.
The meeting was attended by representatives of a total of twelve parties that meet the conditions, as defined in the current legislation.
The participating representatives were informed about the distribution of broadcasting time and electoral financing of the parties as well as about issues related to the electoral process and mainly the way of broadcasting the results.
At the same time, the opportunity was given to the seven parties that participated for the first time in Inter-Party Committee to submit their opinions and submit proposals for the improvement of electoral procedures.
Present at the meeting were the Secretary General of Interior and Organization Michalis Stavrianoudakis, the Secretary General of Communication and Information Dimitris Galamatis, the president of the National Radio and Television Council (NRC) Athanasios Koutroumanos, as well as officials of the Ministry of the Interior.
