Strike announced for tomorrow, Wednesday, June 14, from 12:00 until the end of the shift, the five associations of the YPPOA who continue the mobilizations against the law for the five major state museums (National Archaeological Museum, Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki, Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, Byzantine and Christian Museum, Museum of Byzantine Culture), calling for a protest rally, at 13:00, in the main building of YPPOA (Boumboulinas 20).

Also, as they inform, “there will be a presentation to the hierarchy about the service status of the employees in the Museums”.

“The unacceptable law 5021/2023 dissolves the major State Museums, undermines their research, educational and social role and gives the “free shot” to the Archaeological Service”, the Unified Association of Employees of the Ministry of Culture of Attica, Sterea state in a statement and Islands, the Panhellenic Union of Conservators of Antiquities, the Panhellenic Association of Graduate Employees of Higher Technological Education and the Association of Greek Archaeologists, who continue the strike-abstention from any process related to the law that turns the five museums into NPDD.

The provisions of the specific law “already create a series of problems in the service of citizens and in the Services for simple issues”, “the issuing of free entry cards or the certification of copies for export, which until now were done by the Museums, now burden other Services of the GDAPC and are added to the burden that EFA employees already have”, while “at the same time the staff of the Museums remains trapped, as well as those employees who had requested a transfer before the passing of the law”, as the unions emphasize, among other things.
