A 40 year old grab the cross worn by a Ukrainian Metropolitan when he boarded a tourist bus in Thessaloniki.
Specifically, this is a 40-year-old foreigner, against whom police officers of the White Tower Security Department have filed a case file for robbery and violation of the weapons law.

“The immediate mobilization and intensive searches of police officers of the DI.AS Team. led to the arrest of a person involved in a robbery case.

This is a 40-year-old foreigner, against whom police officers of the White Tower Security Department filed a case file for robbery and violation of the Weapons Law.

Specifically, the above-mentioned man, in the afternoon to evening hours yesterday (14-06-2023), while he was inside a tourist bus, approached a 44-year-old foreigner while boarding it and removed a cross (of religious symbolism), pushing him away at the same time.

After searches, the police found the stolen cross, which was returned to its rightful owner.
A knife was found in the possession of the perpetrator, while the further police investigation revealed that five (5) decisions were pending against him, by which he was sentenced to a total of (8) years of imprisonment, (32) months of imprisonment and a monetary penalty, for joint theft and computer fraud and joint and consecutive theft of particularly high value.

The arrested person will be taken to the competent Prosecutor”.
