His special weight as an actor is huge, but this did not prevent him and his partners from choosing a cafe in Keratea, to relax and talk about work matters.

The reason for him Jon Voight, the 85-year-old American actor who has been awarded an Oscar for Best Actor for his performance in the 1978 film “Coming Home” as well as three Golden Globes. Voight is the father of Angelina Jolie and fellow actor James Haven.

Jon Voight arrived in Athens to participate in the filming of a series – Israeli production – about the ongoing conflicts in the Middle East.

Some scenes take place at the old airbase in Keratovouni, the mountain that is “above” Keratea and has been abandoned since 1995.

This place was chosen by the Israeli producers of the series, they reconstructed it, and it is one of the many scenes of some episodes of the series.

In fact, anyone who visits the gate of the base and doesn’t know about the filming will be surprised to see the bar freshly painted and lowered and the Israeli flag with the Star of David flying at the guard post!

So the great actor, during a break from filming, preferred to drink a soft drink in a cafe in the square of Keratea on Wednesday afternoon, accompanied by the two directors of Israeli origin.

Most of the patrons did not recognize the elderly gentleman as the great American actor, except for a local author and historian, with whom Jon Voight exchanged a few words.

The Oscar-winning actor stayed at the cafe for about two hours and then left with his friends in a jeep.

Keratea, however, kept the shine and… Hollywood perfume spread by one of the last greats of the old guard of world cinema!
