This Saturday takes place in the British capital on 17th London Greek Film Festival.

Selected screenings and the awards ceremony will be hosted at the Hellenic Center (16–18 Paddington Street, Marylebone, London W1U 5AS).

The London Greek Film Festival started in 2008 and has a competitive nature. Presents contemporary films and screenplays by Greek directors, producers, writers and artists from around the world – including Diaspora Greeks and Greek Cypriots, regardless of subject matter.

It also accepts entries from foreign directors and producers as long as their work is somehow related to Greece or Cyprus.

From the very beginning, the Festival aimed to be the international meeting point for Greek films from all over the world. Internationally promotes modern Greek cinema and, more broadly, Greek culture in all its forms, film production in Greece and Cyprus, the positive image of Greece and Cyprus abroad, new technologies as well as academic and artistic research and innovation in cinema, theater and the arts.

The London Greek Film Festival 2023 is under the auspices of the General Secretariat of Hellenism Abroad and Public Diplomacy and is held with the support of the Greek Embassy in London. It is also supported by the Hellenic Center in London.

The opening of the Festival will be greeted with a video message by the Secretary General of Hellenism Abroad and Public Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Chrysoulakis.

The London Greek Film Festival offers in the Film and Screenplay competition the Awards: Odysseus Awards (since 2008), Cosmocinema Awards (since 2018) and Acting Code Awards (since 2022).

From 2022, the London Greek Film Festival has supported and put under its umbrella, the newly established Epidaurus International Film Festival in Greece, which after its excellent presentation last year, is taking place this September for the second year.

Founder and Artistic Director of the London Greek Film Festival, is the film and theater director, artist and writer Christos Prosulis.
