The child was taken to the Children’s Hospital as a precaution, where he is out of danger
By pure luck, a 14-year-old Roma escaped on Friday in Pagrati Lamias when he accidentally shot himself with a shotgun he found abandoned in a field.
According to the report of LamiaReport, the boy found the barrel and the chamber of an old and oxidized shotgun in a field at the end of Levadeias Street and tried to insert a cartridge with a stone, which exploded in his face.
Other children who were with him notified his parents and immediately took the 14-year-old to the Emergency Department of Lamia Hospital.
As it turned out, fortunately for him, the shrapnel and the flame reportedly hit him on the left cheek and scratched the temple, however, as a precaution, he was taken to the Children’s Hospital, accompanied by his mother, where he is hospitalized out of danger.
The AT of Lamia was informed about the incident, which started a preliminary investigation to examine the circumstances that almost claimed the life of a child. As part of the investigation, the 52-year-old father of the child was also arrested for neglecting his supervision, who was released a little later on the oral order of the Public Prosecutor.
