It is currently underway on Nikis Avenue in Thessaloniki, a protest that was organized after an internet call for the case of gang rape on New Year’s Eve, which was reported by a 24-year-old.
The gathering is made mainly by young people, opposite the coffee bar company in which he worked or was a small shareholder, one of the alleged participants in the case, with the company denying that it was an owner, but an employee, with whom the cooperation was terminated. .
In addition to the call for the specific mobilization, there is another one for 7.00 pm, it concerns a gathering at the junction of Tsimiski and Aristotelous streets.
It is recalled that based on the 24-year-old’s complaint, on New Year’s Eve, three people allegedly businessmen – two of whom the woman has so far recognized – snatched her from the elevator of a well-known hotel in the city, after a party in a suite and they led her to a room where she was gang-raped.
When the 24-year-old met, finding out what had happened and seeing pills in the area to help erectile function, she immediately decided to report the incident and is said to be determined to reach the end of the case, until she is justified.
The case is under investigation and one person has already been prosecuted for “insulting sexual dignity without the consent of the victim”, while investigations are ongoing.
At the same time, the authorities are investigating the possibility of a pimping ring that exploits young women and in which it was complained that well-known businessmen from Thessaloniki and Athens may be involved.
