Movie chase, with maneuvers and warning shotsboat carrying foreigners occurred yesterday morning off Patmos.
According to the announcement of the Coast Guard yesterday morning hours, the Port Authorities Leros and Patmos from the naval observatory they perceived the movement of a suspicious vessel, which was sailing at speed in the sea area north of Leros.
Three LS-EL.AKT. patrol boats immediately went to the area, where they located the above T/X near the SW shores of Patmos.
A chase followed and warning shots were fired in a safe area, during which the operator of the above boat made dangerous maneuvers to avoid capture, resulting in the boat running aground between the rock islands “NISI STAVRI” and “PILAVI” southwest of Lipsa.
Two foreigners were on board, who were arrested for violating article 30 of Law 4251/2014, as well as articles 167, 169 and 291 par.3 of the Civil Code.
Following ground checks in the wider area, fifteen 15 foreigners were identified, lacking legal documents, who identified the above arrested as traffickers.
