The call was immediately forwarded to the available ambulance of EKAV Thassos, whose crew at that particular time was delivering an emergency case of stroke to the Prinos Health Center. Within a few minutes the ambulance left the Prinos Health Center where it arrived at the scene of the incident at Astrida beach (provincial road network distance 35 km) in thirty two (32) minutes.
A private doctor was also at the scene of the incident, who after providing medical first aid resuscitation (CPR) confirmed the death of the unfortunate tourist.
It should be mentioned that the EKAV Sector of Thassos is one of the EKAV Sectors in the country, which, as already announced by the government, will be reinforced in the coming days with personnel from the Armed Forces.”
