The family of the 13-year-old is appealing to anyone who saw the incident to identify the driver of the vehicle
Abduction and abandonment of a minor occurred on Friday afternoon in Thessaloniki and specifically in the area of Neapolis.
According to the voria.gr website, the vehicle driving on Didymoteichou Street ran over and injured a 13-year-old, and then left him helpless on the road.
The child was taken with minor injuries to the Hippocrates Hospital in Thessaloniki, while the driver of the car is being sought.
The 13-year-old is expected to undergo surgery on his ankle today, with his family appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to contact the police, who are investigating the driver.
In fact, according to witnesses, as soon as the driver realized that he had hit the minor, he got out of the vehicle, saw the child lying on the road and then got into his car and continued on his way.
It is noted that residents of the area have given the police authorities a description of the vehicle, which was moving on a road, next to a school, where there is a pedestrian crossing in two places.
Terrified residents who were in front of the incident at that time, notified the child’s mother, as well as the EKAV, whose ambulance took him to the hospital. A police patrol car as well as bicyclists rushed to the scene.
