As a wonderful city break destination (“The Super Duper City Break”), the city of Thessaloniki is advertised in London’s Leicester Square, as part of a new campaign prepared by the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization to promote the destination to visitors who cross the square every day.
This particular action presents the city as the perfect city break destination for short holidays to the British public, who are constantly looking for entertainment, entertainment, while not failing to plan their holidays early.
The Organization’s campaign is accompanied by two Digital Panels in Leicester Square, which depict the city’s cosmopolitan character, wild nightlife, but also two of its characteristics, such as the traditional Thessaloniki bun and its enchanting beach.
Regarding the choice of Leicester Square, the Organization in its announcement, points out that it is a global cultural hub and entertainment center with a visitation of more than 2.5 million people every week. It is home to the best Theaters in London and hosts 52 Red Carpet premieres every year. Every day the square is visited by 250,000 Londoners just for fun, in big casinos, clubs, hotels and restaurants.
It is worth noting that during the promotion of Thessaloniki in Leicester Square, the National Geographic Traveler Food Festival will take place on July 15 and 16, in which the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization also participates.
In her statements, the deputy regional governor of the Metropolitan Unity of Thessaloniki and president of the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, Voula Patoulidou, pointed out that after last year’s very successful promotion program, London is chosen again as it gathers not only the British but people from all over the world.
