The 12 defendants were found guilty for the murder of Alkis Kampanos and the wounding of his two friends, according to the decision pronounced by the Mixed Jury Court of Thessaloniki.

The Court recited the charges to each defendant individually, calling one by one to rise from their seats.

The charge of joint manslaughter (in Alki’s case) was changed to manslaughter with potential intent, while some were found guilty as accomplices in this act.

Specifically, with regard to the murder of Alkis, seven of the twelve were found guilty of manslaughter and five of them were found guilty of complicity.

Regarding the wounding of Alki’s friend, the five are charged with attempted murder and the five with complicity.

Regarding the third young man in the group, one is charged with attempted murder, and the others with complicity.

The Court adjourned in view of the mitigations to be requested by the defense attorneys.

There were boos against the accused and tension prevailed immediately after the break with those present shouting “murderers”.
