Video – document from the moment of the theft of the white Nissan Navara, which was driven by the 20-year-old Syrian national during today’s pursuit in Larissa, is being released.

onlarissa.gr contacted a representative of the metal construction company “GG METAL CONSTRUCTION” which owns the car and is based in Galatsi, Attica.

As can be seen from the report, the vehicle, which was acquired a few days ago and was issued a license just yesterday, was parked outside the house of the main shareholder of the company.

According to what was recorded by a security camera, everything happened today at dawn and in just four minutes! At 5.44 a total of three people approached the white Nissan Navara and four minutes later they had managed – despite it being automatic – to break into it, start it and disappear.

The authorities traced the stolen vehicle to the toll transceiver, as the owner saw its movements through the electronic toll tracking system. He then informed the police and the fatal chase ensued.

The chronicle of the pursuit

It all started at noon on Saturday when the police received a signal that a stolen Nissan Navara farm car, with one passenger, was moving on the Athens-Thessaloniki highway, heading towards the co-capital.

A chase started from the Moschohori toll road, with the driver not stopping at any of the police signals. Passing Larissa, at the height of Gyrtoni, the driver of the vehicle left the national highway and made a U-turn, after a while re-entering PATHE, in the direction of Athens

After Larissa he left the highway again, choosing the provincial road network and having patrol cars behind him chasing him.

He finally abandoned the stolen vehicle outside the village of Moschohori after it crashed into a wall and then tried to escape on foot. Later, under as yet unclear circumstances, a police officer allegedly shot and fatally wounded him.
