An Afghan and a Palestinian, who were held against their will in an apartment, were released by police officers of the Directorate of Foreigners of Thessaloniki with the assistance of police officers of the Department of Prevention and Suppression of Crime of the Directorate of Security of Thessaloniki.
During the police operation, which took place in the evening hours yesterday, in an apartment in the wider area of ​​Monastiriou Street, a 27-year-old Afghan was identified and arrested, who was responsible for feeding the two men, who lacked travel documents.
The two men entered the Greek territory from the Greek-Turkish border and were then taken to the apartment in question, where accomplices of the 27-year-old blackmailed them demanding the payment of money in order to be released.
Three knives, a mobile phone and six mobile phone connection packs were seized.
The person arrested with the relevant case filed by the Department of Immigration Management of Thessaloniki, will be taken to the competent Prosecutor.
