With the proposal of the prosecutor on the mitigating factors, the process of reciting the decision in the trial for the murderous attack, with fan motives, which claimed the life of the 19-year-old, continues today before the Mixed Jury Court of Thessaloniki Alki Campano and injured his two friends, in the early hours of February 1, in the area of ​​Harilaou.

The 12 young men who are sitting in the accused’s dock already unanimously found guilty, by conversion of the indictment, for homicide with probable intent (from direct homicidal intent) against Alkis – the seven as perpetrators and the 5 as accomplices in the specific act.

The decision was the same – with a corresponding change in the charge, for attempted homicide against the first injured young man, while in the case of the second injured, the judges found the 11 guilty, by a majority, of complicity in attempted homicide with possible intent and the latter as the perpetrator in this act (the minority judges were of the opinion that he should be convicted of grievous bodily harm).

Today’s 49th meeting of the Criminal Court of Thessaloniki is expected to be a marathon and will begin with the recommendation of the prosecutor of the seat as to whether or not to reject the mitigating circumstances. The mitigations requested by defense counsel on behalf of their clients are post-adolescence (for all), cohabitation (requested for 11 of the 12), sincere remorse and subsequent good behavior (these two where applicable).

After a conference the court will announce the decision on mitigating factors, any recognition of which leads to reduced sentences. Afterwards, the prosecutor will take the floor again, who will propose the penalties, and after the defense attorneys have been appointed, the court will retire again in view of a new conference, which will concern the penalties.

It is recalled that the 12 convicts were found guilty of the following acts:

  • The 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 7th, 9th and 11th unanimously for joint homicide with probable intent (Moose), attempted joint homicide with probable intent (first injured friend) and by a majority (5-2) for complicity in attempted homicide by common with possible malice (second injured friend). Unanimously for a fight in the form of an attack, due to which death occurred with a sports report and possession of an object (with the aggravating circumstances of the Sports Law), as well as for illegal carrying and use of weapons.
  • The 10th unanimously for manslaughter with intent (Moose), attempted homicide with intent (first injured friend) and by majority (5-2) for attempted homicide with intent (second injured friend). Unanimously for a fight in the form of an attack, due to which death occurred with a sports report and possession of an object (with the aggravating circumstances of the Sports Law), as well as for illegal carrying and use of weapons.
  • The 1st, 5th, 6th, 8th and 12th unanimously for complicity in joint homicide with possible intent (Alki), complicity in joint attempted homicide with potential intent (first injured friend) and against by majority (5-2) for complicity in attempted homicide together with possible malice (second injured friend). Unanimously for a fight in the form of an attack, due to which death occurred with a sports report and possession of an object (with the aggravating circumstances of the Sports Law), as well as, as the case may be, for illegal carrying and use of weapons.
