Within the next 3-4 months, it is predicted that the ELGA’s new operating regulation will be legislated, as the Minister of Rural Development and Food, Lefteris Avgenakis, reported from the offices of the Insurance Agency, in the context of his visits to the supervised agencies of the FSA.

“We hope in the next 3-4 months and as long as there is a relevant consultation with the directly interested parties, the insured, to proceed with the legislation of the new, modernized and improved ELGA regulation”, said Mr. Avgenakis.

During the meeting, Mr. Avgenakis asked the management of ELGA and the directors within a short period of time to submit the proposals for the formulation of the regulation and for any improvements in the operation of the organization which, as he emphasized, “are ultimately required as proved by the discussion.’

For his part, the president of ELGA, Andreas Lykourentzos, noted “we have defined a specific timetable so that a framework law that will regulate the organizational and operational issues of the organization will very quickly become a law of the state”.

Issues that, according to him, “concern an optimistic perspective of the employees, the financial stability of the organization with which it will be a perspective of the future” but also the “reform of those regulatory provisions required for the adaptation of our organization under the new conditions of the climate crisis”.

The meeting was attended by, among others, the Deputy Minister of Rural Development and Food, Dionysis Stamenitis, the vice-president of ELGA, Georgios Feretzanis, the vice-president of ETHEAS, Christos Giannakakis, as well as officials of both ELGA.
