The 31-year-old driver of the jet ski had the little boy at his feet when, due to unknown circumstances until now, he lost control and deviated from his course
A serious jet ski accident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Ierapetra, on the beach of Makris Gialos.
According to neakriti.gr, a 10-year-old boy was injured and taken to the Ierapetra hospital with severe brain injuries while on a jet ski. The 31-year-old driver of the jet ski, had the little boy at his feet, when for unknown circumstances, he lost control and deviated from his course. After a few seconds it was thrown towards the beach, crashing into a wooden structure, which is used as a storage area, injuring its two passengers.
Ambulances immediately rushed to the scene where they took the 31-year-old and the little boy to the hospital. According to information, the 10-year-old boy has severe brain injuries and is expected to be intubated and treated at the on-call University Hospital in Heraklion. His health condition is considered extremely critical.
The 31-year-old, on the other hand, is in Ierapetra hospital in good health.
The authorities are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
