Due to the high risk of fire (category 3), the prohibition of traffic, passage and stay of persons and vehicles from 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m. in forest areas of the Prefecture of Evros will also apply tomorrow.

As mentioned in the relevant decision of the deputy governor P.E. Evros, Dimitris Petrovich, the ban applies to forest areas in the municipalities of Alexandroupolis, Soufli and Samothraki. In particular, traffic is prohibited in the reforestation of Kirkis-Sykorrahi, in the recreation area of ​​Sykorrahi, in the reforestation of Mesimvria and Komaro-Atarni, in the forest and recreation area of ​​Iana, in the peri-urban forest of Palagia, in the reforestation in front of K.A.A.Y. Makris, in the grove of the French OSE station, in the forest area of ​​Aetochori-Pefkon-Loutrou.

Also in the peri-urban forest of Chora Samothraki as well as in the Dadia-Lefkimi-Soufli National Forest Park, area A, with the exception of the burned area from the fire of July 21, 2022. According to the existing legislation, for each violation of the prohibition, an administrative fine of 300 euros is imposed from competent authorities to ensure the implementation of said decision and the confirmation of the fine, which are the Greek Police, the Fire Brigade, the Forestry Service and the Municipal Police.
