Three changes were made to the Ministry of Labor’s amendment to articles on coronavirus sick leave.
According to sources in the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the following apply:
“First, it is clarified that working parents, during their coronavirus leave of their children, receive for the first three days 50% of their salary, which is paid by the employer and for the fourth day receive 100% of their salaries from the state budget.
Secondly, in the case of illness of the employees themselves, there is no longer an obligation for the employer to declare in the information system “ERGANI” the employees who use the leave, due to coronavirus disease, as it is a sick leave.
Thirdly, it is determined that, after the entry into force of the regulation for the leave of the employees who suffer from coronavirus, article 15 of law 4722 continues to apply only to those employees who are compulsorily isolated due to contact with a confirmed case, according to the respective applicable health protocols and the number of days they set. For the application of the provision of article 15 of law 4722/2022, the employee submits a responsible statement, in which he documents that he came in contact with a confirmed case and the replenishment of working time concerns the total number of hours corresponding to the working days of stay in isolation”.
