Firefighters and volunteers in Rhodes since yesterday they have been fighting a huge battle on the front of the fire, the radius of which exceeds five kilometers and burning uncontrollable virgin forest in the heart of the island.

Speaking to SKAI 100, 3 the regional governor of South Aegean, George Hatzimarkoshe mentioned that 6 air vehicles are operating on the fronts of the fire – among them a Chinook helicopter – and he did call for airlift.
