The police investigations into eexasperation of the gruesome murder and the dismemberment of a 30-year-old Indian man that was revealed at noon on Tuesday in Chania, when workers at the DEDISA Mechanical Waste Recycling Plant found a human skull in a bag.

The heinous crime seems to have been committed in Rethymno, as in the same bag as the head, they were found receipts and empty spray bottles associated with the specific area.

Regarding the completion time, although it was initially estimated that it could be ten days beforeit is most likely that it will not exceed 5-7 days as shown by the forensic examination and based on this, on the part of DEDISA, an attempt is made to trace the specific route.

As late as Wednesday afternoon, workers at the factory found other body parts. This time the hip was located along with a section of the unfortunate man’s waist.

At the same time, the authorities have turned their investigations in the Indian community of Rethymnon, which has approximately 800 members who are employed in the agricultural sector and in a meat processing unit, while they have also been in contact with large hotel units that have hired staff from third countries (Bangladesh, Pakistan) but no disappearance has been reported so far. The possibility that the deceased did not have legal documents in Greece will make the investigation of the case even more difficult.

However, it is taken for granted that perpetrator and victim knew each other and that the crime concerns a dispute between them, while the tool that the medical examiner will indicate was probably used to dismember the deceased, is an element that will help the investigations.

Meanwhile in a state of shock the three workers who found the severed head remain, according to the general manager, Kostas Paterakis. In fact, initially, seeing the eye, the worker thought it was a doll, as he could not imagine that someone had cut off and thrown in a bin a human head, while from the long hair they initially assumed it was a woman.

Shortly after, the legs of the unfortunate Asian were found, cut off from the knee down, as well as bags with his internal organs. However, hands not yet detected, which makes it difficult to identify the deceased, as there are no fingerprints. However, the same workers reported that a little earlier they had passed through the belt closed bags that emitted a strong stench, so it is possible that the hands have already ended up at the landfill.

It is noted that if the hands or other body parts were discarded in a green bin, then they would end up not in Chania but in the Amario factory.

“This has never happened before. Hazardous materials have been found from time to time but this has never happened again and these people are shocked. These people work hard every day and fight to keep the city clean and to recover materials from recycling.” emphasized Mr. Paterakis, speaking to ZARPA RADIO 89.6 and Dimitris Pappas.
