Decisions on the framework that will apply to electricity tariffs from October, when the emergency mechanism expires, are expected by the beginning of September
Fixed tariffs for August or reductions compared to July announced the majority of suppliers.
Specifically, the charges announced by PPC remain at the level of the current month, i.e. 15.5 cents per kilowatt hour if the consumption is up to 500 kilowatt hours and 16.7 cents if the month’s consumption exceeds 500 kilowatt hours. For night electricity the charge also remains at 11.4 cents.
Indicative invoices from other suppliers:
- Protergia Household Value: 0.0946 cents per kilowatt hour (from 0.11115)
- Heron SIMPLY GENEROUS HOME, 8.55 cents per kilowatt hour (0.0855 Euro/kWh) (from 0.1125)
- Elpedison Green Economy: 8 cents per kilowatt hour (from 11.1)
- NRG on time: 13.7 cents per kilowatt hour (up from 13.2)
- Watt&Volt Value: 9.46 cents per kilowatt hour (from 11.15)
- Volterra: 13.98 cents per kilowatt hour (unchanged)
- Zenith Home Now: 14.4 cents per kilowatt hour (unchanged)
Meanwhile until the beginning of September decisions are expected on the framework that will apply to electricity tariffs from October, when the emergency mechanism that has been in place since last summer expires.
As the prime minister said Kyriakos Mitsotakis yesterday, during his visit to the Ministry of Environment and Energy: “Our concern remains the proper functioning of the market and the support of the most vulnerable households. Citizens know that this government has stood by them over the last year and has effectively countered large fluctuations in the price of electricity. This is something we want to continue to do for the foreseeable future. There will be very specific pronouncements on these matters in my speech at International Exhibition of Thessaloniki”.
The new frame is set to consultation by the Regulatory Authority with the suppliers pointing out, among other things, the inability to comply with the obligations of paper notification of the new tariffs two months before they come into force (ie until the end of July).
The Ministry of the Interior aims to shorten the notification deadline to one month in paper or electronic form.
