The inspiration
If anyone knows well from young entrepreneurship, from how a good idea turns into action and a profitable business, it is Sir Stelios Hatziioannouwho “stirred up the waters” with the airline easyJet.com in 1994, aged just 27. Six years later he floated easyJet.com on the London Stock Exchange to fund an increase in its fleet from 16 to 330 Airbus aircraft, which now carry almost 100 million passengers a year. Strategically, o Sir Stelios Hatziioannou retained ownership of the easyJet.com brand in its own private company and expanded the easy family of brands into other areas such as easyHotel.com, easyCar.com and many others. Both his business and philanthropic work is a source of inspiration for young entrepreneurs worldwide.
