A preliminary investigation was ordered by the Athens Primary Prosecutor’s Office on the occasion of complaints as well as hundreds of posts on social media, regarding the tragic death of animals (dogs and cats) in a private shelter in Lagonisi. (dogs and cats) private.
THE head of the Athens Prosecutor’s Office Antonios Eleftherianos after the rain of complaints about the circumstances of death of the unfortunate animals, he asked to investigate the exact conditions under which the shelter that housed them burned down, when the fire that broke out the previous Monday in Neo Kouvara in Southeast Attica reached Lagonisi, Saronida and Anavyssos, burning everything it found and causing losses to animals and property.
The investigation was undertaken by the prosecutor Panagiota Lambrinakou which will ask for all the information about the livelihood of the unfortunate animals and especially if there was a person in the shelter at the time of the fire to help rescue them.
It is noted that some of the animals, dogs and cats, were saved by the intervention of volunteers, who came running, but unfortunately most of the dogs and cats were burned inside the shelter without having the possibility of escape.
