Singer Vitão and producer Matuto announced on social networks the hiring of a lawyer and the opening of a joint action to guarantee the recognition of paternity for Nina, daughter of model Suelen Gervasio. As the model did not undergo the DNA test during pregnancy, both potential parents want to perform the test soon after birth.
“In Brazil, the absence of the father’s name on birth certificates is a huge problem and we need to take the problem of paternal abandonment seriously. Every child has the right to have the father’s name on their record, have the father participate in their livelihood, be loved and, above all, be cared for by the father”, shared the two on social networks.
The text continues: “For this reason, we, Vinícius and Victor, hired a multidisciplinary team so that Nina has all her rights guaranteed. We hired Dr. Paulo Andreotti as a lawyer to file the joint action for recognition of Nina’s paternity, soon after birth, respecting that the mother refused to take the exam before Nina’s birth”.
The 23-year-old artist is named as the child’s father. In April, he shared on social media that he was expecting a child, without mentioning the mother’s name, who was later revealed to be model Suelen Gervasio. However, online conversations between Suelen and producer Matuto suggest that he would be the father.
The model never confirmed the identity of her real father and refused requests for DNA tests from both, considering that this would put the pregnancy at risk.
After the announcement of Vitão and Matuto, Suelen shared on social networks that, contrary to what they claim, the two did not assume responsibility for Nina. “A positive or negative paternity test will not diminish Victor’s responsibility in the face of this situation. Both of them did not seek me out for anything, but they get together to write a text and talk about paternity”.
Previously, the model had said on social media that the singer had not assumed financial responsibility for her daughter: “As of today, my daughter has no father. Anyone who wants to apply, deposit a Pix.” In response, Vitão claimed the opposite: “I have already assumed expenses from Nina and Suelen of more than R$ 45 thousand and filed a lawsuit, before the birth, offering pregnancy food, even without knowing if I am the father or not”.
