Officers of the Nea Moudania Port Authority proceeded to arrest a 42-year-old man and father of a three-year-old boy who was in danger of drowning at “Xenia” beach in Paliouri, Halkidiki, who is accused of exposing a minor to danger.

The incident took place at noon when the minor boy was found in a semi-conscious state in the sea. Bathing, he began to give him CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) and to offer him first aid.

According to an announcement by the Coast Guard, “the Port Authority of New Moudania was informed at noon yesterday that a 3-year-old minor boy was found in a semi-conscious state in the sea at the beach “XENIA” in Paliouri, Kassandra, Halkidiki.
The above minor was provided with first aid by a bather and a private doctor and was initially transported by ambulance to the Polygyros General Hospital of Halkidiki, and then to the General Hospital of Thessaloniki “IPPOKRATEIO” for further medical treatment.
The 42-year-old foreign father of the minor was arrested by the 2nd Port Department of New Moudania of the Central Port Authority of Thessaloniki, which is conducting the preliminary investigation, for violating article 306 of the Criminal Code. (exposure of a minor at risk)’.
