A total of 53 forest fires broke out in the last twenty-four hoursof which “most were dealt with immediately, at their initial stage”, as stated in a statement by the Fire Department.

Regarding the fire in Rhodes, according to the Fire Department, the flare-ups that occurred mainly in the south-eastern side of the island took on dimensionswhich is why they were issued three messages from 112 to evacuate the settlements of Vati, Plimmyri and Lachania as well as Gennadi in a safe direction.
Regarding Corfu, as the Fire Department emphasizes, the revivals are many pthe wider area of ​​the north-eastern side of the island. Very high fire risk (risk category 4) for the following areas:
• Region of Crete
• Peloponnese Region (Arkadia Region, Laconia Region, Messinia Region)
• Ionian Islands District
• Region of Western Greece (Etoloakarnania PE, Ilia PE)
• Region of Thessaly (PE Karditsa, PE Trikala)
• Region of Central Macedonia (Pieria, Imathia, Pella, Kilkis, Serres, Halkidiki, Mount Athos)
