Criminal prosecution for four felonies and seven misdemeanors was brought by prosecutors according to ERT. at the expense of the 104 arrested for the crime that has shocked the whole of Greece, with the 29-year-old victim Michalis Katsouri.

The police made new arrests of suspects, while at the same time has launched a manhunt for dozens more suspects.

At 104 the number of people arrested for the bloody incidents in New Philadelphia has increased, as the five Croats who were brought in last Tuesday night from Igoumenitsa and another 19-year-old compatriot who was found on a bus to Tirana were added to those who were arrested from the first moment at the Kakkavia border station.

All six were taken to Athens and brought together with the other defendants to the public prosecutor.

In particular, they were brought to the public prosecutor 103 people, namely 97 Croats, two Greeks, one Albanian, one Austrian, one German and one Bosnian, while one more Croat, included in the case file, is still hospitalized under guard at the Red Cross.

The new arrests by the police put other members of the group of hooligans who caused the disturbances on Monday night in the frame of the murder.

They were transferred from GADA by groups, with three buses, while the five Croats who were arrested last Tuesday night by the port police in Igoumenitsa also arrived at the scene.

The announcement of the port

“The arrest of five foreigners, of Croatian nationality, aged 25, 41, 29, 25 and 31 years, was carried out yesterday evening by officers of the Security Office of the Central Port Authority of Igoumenitsa. In a check carried out inside the passenger port of Igoumenitsa on persons who were going to travel by E/G – O/G ship bound for the port of Bari in Italy, it was found that the above could not sufficiently justify the reason and duration of their stay in the country and in addition, they stated that they were on vacation in Greece and are returning to their country without any luggage.”

Genetic material (DNA) was taken from all those arrested in an attempt to identify the perpetrator of the murder of the unfortunate Union fan.

The case file has already been forwarded to the prosecutor and criminal prosecution is expected which – according to information – will include serious felony offenses.

The arrested, however, seem to have argued to the police officers who arrested them “they did not come to Athens to cause incidents, but to psychologically support their team and watch the match from the cafeterias”.

Police investigations are ongoing as blockades have been set up on national highways and borders, at homes, hotels and Airbnbs in the basin that Dynamo fans have rented to stay.

According to reports at least another 50 people escape so far, and for this purpose the controls are thorough.
