The investigator and the prosecutor decided that the accused should be sent to prison because of the violence of the blows which the victim accepted based on two aggravating witness statementsuntil the final forensic report is presented on the exact causes of death of the 50-year-old.

During his testimony, before the 3rd special investigator, the 27-year-old claimed that the victim was in a rage and cursed him with obscenities. Said that he only hit him once in the face with his hand he too collapsed to the ground. He called EKAV and tried to give him first aid while he then went to a police station but was released as there was no charge against him.

The dealer said he gave his phone number to the officer on duty and when he learned the 50-year-old had died he went to the police station himself and turned himself in. He said he was shocked by this development.

The 27-year-old is charged with fatal grievous bodily harm, a felony.

According to the forensic report included in the case file, the 50-year-old’s death was “due to head injuries from a reported beating and a fall from the same height.

The incident it happened at midday last Monday on the pedestrian street of Agia Sophia while the 50-year-old, father of a 10-year-old child, was taken to the hospital where he expired the next day.
