At the same time, in a wider context, all the underpasses under the jurisdiction of the Attica Region are maintained and cleaned on an almost daily basis, while at the same time beautification interventions are carried out, both of their image and of their infrastructure.
The underpass of Harokopou at its junction with Syngrou Avenue was opened to traffic after the maintenance and reconstruction interventions by the Region of Attica, while in addition to its current aesthetic image, it is also a safer crossing road.
The interventions do not only concern the aesthetic part, but also the construction care, with the creation of solid infrastructure, such as the installation of an industrial floor and new electrical installations, the replacement of conventional lamps with anti-vandal led lighting, the complete renovation/renewal of the paint and structural elements of the crossing, but also in a more general context, the control of the electromechanical installations, as well as the pumping stations that exist in them.
By ensuring the safe passage of pedestrians, vehicular traffic will also be significantly facilitated, as it is expected that more time will be given to the traffic lights, since the passage of pedestrians will be mainly underground.
At the same time, in a wider context, all the underpasses under the jurisdiction of the Attica Region are maintained and cleaned on an almost daily basis, while at the same time beautification interventions are carried out, both of their image and of their infrastructure.
The regional governor G. Patoulis, satisfied with the progress of the upgrade projects throughout the road network of Attica, said among other things: “A few months ago, the Harokopou crossing was completely destroyed by fire. Today we are handing it over to the citizens, safe, modern and functional, having completed important renovation and beautification projects.
Our goal is to continue in the same direction with other underground passages, always with the collaboration of our artists and collaborators, in order to promote creativity and culture and highlight collectivity and unity. Together we can achieve something beautiful.”
Finally, it is noted that this particular crossing is the fourth in Attica to be converted into a model.
