The large fire that has been burning since late yesterday afternoon, in an agroforestry area, in the area of Agia Irini Kefalonia, has been brought under control.

Until three in the morning the winds were very strong, but then they died down. The firefighters, along with volunteers and local residents made superhuman efforts to contain the fire.”
Furthermore, Mr. Travlos characterized as important as “important and immediate the help from the mainland” while finally he mentioned that the “PE of Kefalonia, was next to the firefighters and the residents, both with water tankers and with project machinery”.
