In response to a woman’s post-complaint on social media that at a beach bar in Sithonia, Halkidiki, she was not allowed to feed her 2-year-old child with food she brought from home, the manager of the store gave, speaking to Radio Thessaloniki.

“We allow everything for the children,” claimed the manager of Lagonisi beach bar, where the incident happened, Giorgos Tserkezis.

“The lady brought food with her which was pasticcio. For the children, we allow all foods and even store them in the refrigerator so they don’t spoil. The lady took out the food and instead of feeding her child, she fed herself and her husband. It was the waiter’s duty to inform the lady that she was on an organized beach and we do not allow food for customers. We allow everything for children.”

The complainant, who is on holiday in Halkidiki, also spoke to Radio Thessaloniki and described what happened on August 14, 2023 at the well-known beach bar.

According to the complaint, she, her husband and their 2-year-old child were seen in the area of ​​Vourvourous with another couple and their one-year-old child.

When they arrived at the beach bar, they had a small cooler with the children’s fruit with them which no one noticed.

After sitting on the sunbeds, among other things, they ordered a Burger which they didn’t like, returned it and got their money back.

“Because the Burger was stale I didn’t want to order anything for the kid. We had made spaghetti at home and we went and brought his food for him to eat. It was in an aluminum container a little big because we couldn’t find anything else. I didn’t want to give my child a burger, but the food I made. She doesn’t know if my child has allergies or something else. At that moment, a manager of the store comes and tells us that what we are doing is prohibited and to go and feed it in the car” the woman explained from her side.
