The Municipality of Athens completely renovated yet another playground in the city.
Bright colors but also a lot of action await the little Athenians at the renovated playground of the Municipality of Athens in the neighborhood of Ilisia.
This renovated and fully equipped entertainment area of 300.91 sq.m., surrounded by Umlianis and Diocharos streets, was transformed into an “oasis” of joy and carefreeness, with many and interesting playing instruments.
With the aim of meeting the needs of children of all ages, instruments were installed and play pillars were created for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. The colorful play “hive” features, among other things, a two-seater metal swing with toddler seats, a double tower – a multi-functional playhouse with an accessible ladder, slides and a fireman’s pole, an impressive multi-position multi-functional swing, as well as a multi-functional surface system for toddlers with climbing frame and hammock.
The playground has a metal fence, while its general configuration and equipment allow children to enjoy their play every day without fear. The space has a certificate of compliance from an accredited control body, a special mark of suitability for operation, but also a safe floor that keeps small visitors away from injuries.
“In this renovated playground in Ilisia, creativity and imagination meet play and smiles. The space changed radically and became an integral part of our children’s daily life again. It turned into a special “nest” of play that allows every little citizen to have pleasant experiences, to socialize, to strengthen their skills, to be free,” said the Mayor of Athens, Kostas Bakoyiannis.
The playground was strengthened with the required urban equipment, as the services of the Municipality installed new benches, a tap, baskets, waste bins and information signs, meeting the needs of all its visitors, young and old.
