General holiday today – Which areas it concerns – Which shops are open

Attica, Boeotia, the Dodecanese, Evia, Crete and the Cyclades are on holiday today, Wednesday, as these areas were declared in a state of special mobilization of civil protection due to the intense weather phenomena that occurred.

In these areas the following applies: The operation of all public services is suspended, with the exception of the services of the first and second degree local authorities, the Armed Forces, the Security Forces, the public health structures, the means of public transport and other services. which are necessary for the management of the phenomenon at the discretion of the head of the relevant organic unit.

There will be no level of education in these areas, no e-learning, public or private, no nurseries, day care centers, children’s creative employment centers, children’s and disabled people’s creative employment centers and day care centers.

The operation of private businesses is also suspended, except for food stores, pharmacies and other health facilities, petrol stations and other businesses operating during the holidays, as well as businesses whose operation helps to deal with the consequences of bad weather. Supermarkets and grocery stores that will be open from 10:00 until 18:00. Gas stations and pharmacies will operate according to their regular hours and the schedule of their on-call hours.

The bank branches will remain closed and will not carry out transactions for the public in the Regions of Attica, Crete and South Aegean and in the regional units of Viotia and Evia.

The operation of public markets within the Attica Region is completely suspended.

Appointments at the vaccination centers of the prefectures of Attica and Evia are also suspended today.
