The Fire and Civil Protection forces will battle the fire that broke out the day before yesterday in Fyli and reached the borders of the National Forest in Parnitha in order to stop any flare-ups. According to sources from the Fire Department, the fire brigades will take advantage of the meteorological data prevailing this evening, i.e. the reduction in the intensity of the winds and the increased percentages of humidity, which exceed 40-45%, in order to fully develop their planning. Throughout the night the forest commanders with all the firefighting forces and Civil Protection forces will work around the perimeter of the fire so that during the night it remains within the limits it has burned, so that with the first light of day the aerial means will help towards the demarcation of the fire. As it became known from the Fire Department, the front of the fire is burning in a difficult place, in a ravine, near the Cloisters Monastery, but the monastery is not in danger.

226 firefighters with 11 groups of infantry departments, 69 vehicles including the force from France are working at the scene and until the last light of yesterday they tried 12 aircraft and 14 helicopters. At the same time, strong forces of volunteer firefighters with infantry units, forces that have been made available by the General Staff of the National Defense and the Hellenic Police, as well as water tankers and work machines of the Attica Region, are operating.

The Fire Brigade will continue to fight the fire that broke out yesterday at noon in Steiri Distomo, Boeotia, throughout the night. The strong winds that blow in the area make the work of the forces difficult and have contributed to the spread of the fire. As a precaution, a 112 message has been sent to evacuate those who are in Steiri Boiotia in order to head towards Distomo, while a warning message has been sent to the residents of the settlements of Peristera and Agios Nikolaos, so that they remain ready due to the ongoing forest fire and to follow the instructions of the authorities.

However, today will also be difficult, as according to the Fire Risk Prediction Map, a very high risk of fire is predicted (risk category 4) in Boeotia, Evia and Attica.

The personnel of the Fire Department of the Territory remains on general alert in order to deal with the increased service demands, which have arisen due to the large number of fires as well as the very high risk of fire (risk category 4), while aerial surveillance patrols continue, as well as patrols by Fire, Police and Military forces.
