A glimmer of optimism for the fire that has been burning for the third day in Parnitha, one of the few remaining green lungs for the capital.
According to what the representative of the Fire Department, Giannis Artopioos, said, the picture on the front of the fire is better, but there is no room for complacency. He explained that at the moment the situation is improved, however he cannot yet express optimism as north-easterly winds are expected which may cause problems.
The president of the Acharnon municipal council Themis Economou speaking to SKAI, he clarified that the Thracian Macedonians are not in danger. He said that according to the first estimates in the municipality of Acharnon they have made 10 to 15 houses.

The residents of Thrakomakedon remain on alert after the message that reached their mobile phones from 112 during the night calling them to be ready to leave their homes.

Due to the fire, the Police has stopped the traffic of vehicles on the following roads:
-At Parnithos Avenue and Boskiza Street,
-On Filias ton Laon street to Camps
-On Konstantinou Karamanli Avenue from Thrakomakedonon Street
-On Parnithos Street from Thrakomakedonon Street
-On Kymi avenue from the height of the Kalyftaki bridge in the traffic flow towards Olympiakos Chorio
-On Kymi Avenue from Antiochou Street in the direction of Thrakomakedones
-On Thrakomakedonon Street from the height of Boskiza Street
During yesterday’s day, houses in Agia Paraskevi Menidiou and Agios Ioannis Rossos Acharnon were given over to the flames.
