Giuliani was outraged by the charges as he left prison
THE Rudy Giuliani, formerly his “right hand”. Donald Trump turned himself in to an Atlanta jail Wednesday as part of investigations into efforts to tamper with Georgia’s 2020 election results.
The 79-year-old former New York mayor drove to Fulton County, Georgia in a black SUV and spent about half an hour inside the jail before being released on $150,000 bond.
He was fingerprinted and photographed at the county jail before a judge signed off on his release on bail.
Giuliani was outraged on the charges against him as he left jail, telling a group of reporters that County Attorney Fannie Willis “will go down in American history for conducting one of the worst attacks on the American Constitution when this case goes down.” .
His trial is expected in the next week or two and could be held in camera.
Giuliani and Trump face off both 13 categories, most of the other 17 defendants in the contested case. Trump announced he would turn himself in to an Atlanta jail on Thursday.
The 79-year-old maintains his innocence, claiming that “the only thing he is guilty of was that zealously supported his (then) client’.
“I’m being accused because I’m a lawyer,” Giuliani told reporters after being taken into custody.
