In the identification and rescue of 98 irregular immigrants, in three different incidents that occurred in the last 24 hours in Samos, officials of the port corps proceeded.

Specifically, this morning, a boat carrying 35 migrants (23 men, 2 women, 5 boys and 5 girls) was spotted by a coastguard vessel in a marine area north of the island.

Immediately the crew of the boat proceeded to safely collect the passengers, whom they transported to the port of Malagari.

In addition, near Cape Prasos, a coast guard vessel rounded up 21 more illegal immigrants who were on board a boat which was in a difficult position.

They are 4 men, 7 women, 2 boys and 8 girls who were transported in good health to the port of Samos

It is also noted that in the early hours of yesterday another 42 irregular migrants were found in a stationary boat in the sea area north of Samos, near the settlement of Kokkari. A patrol boat proceeded to collect them safely and they were transferred to the port of Malagari.
