The special O Melhor de São Paulo Gastronomia – Restaurantes, Bares e Cuisine brings a selection of more than 900 places to eat and drink in the city, presented according to their specialty and with information about the neighborhoods in which they are located.
In addition to the selection, the project highlights winners elected by the specialized jury and highlights the opinion of city residents through a Datafolha survey, which draws up a list of the best addresses in São Paulo according to São Paulo residents.

ANGOLA, NIGERIA AND CAMEROON
BIYOU’Z
The kitchen is led by Cameroonian Melanito Biyouha, born in the capital, Yaoundê. There, she prepares recipes that are the result of research into the gastronomic heritage of countries such as Angola, Nigeria and Cameroon. Among them are the fumbua, which has peanut butter with palm oil, ground shrimp, fumbua (dried leaf) and cassava with chicken (R$55).

GANSARAL
It is on the porch of a house from the 1940s that dishes that pay homage to German cuisine are served. If you drop by for lunch, try the currywurst, a grilled schüblig-type sausage with curry ketchup (R$35). A variety of German pasta, spätzle is served in melted Swiss cheese, garnished with crispy onions (R$67). For afternoon coffee, you can try the käsekuchen, a cake made with ricotta, vanilla and almonds, accompanied by red fruit compote (R$ 28).

WINDHUK
The name of the restaurant is a tribute to a German ship that docked in Santos in 1939. The rustic space serves sausages and German beers. To fully enjoy them, ask to share the cooked schlachtplatte accompanied by sauerkraut, which includes boiled potatoes, pork knuckles, kassler (a type of smoked and cured pork), chorizo, liver pâté, sausage with garlic, vienna sausage and white sausage (R$ 215). Savor the German dish with an Erdinger beer (R$36).

BELGIAN
CHEZ VOUS
It’s been seven years since the kitchen started offering traditional Belgian dishes. The restaurant’s flagship is moules et frites, a dish of mussels prepared in an enameled steel pan and served in four different versions. The moules à la provençale has wine, vegetables, garlic, parsley and tomatoes accompanied by fries and homemade mayonnaise — the dish costs R$89. To go with it, the address offers an extensive list of beers.

A single table holds 12 diners, received at two times: for dinner on Saturday, at 8 pm, or for lunch on Sunday, at 1 pm. The kitchen, led by Denise Guerschman, who lived in Norway, explores in a five-course tasting menu (R$ 320) Nordic elements such as herring, sheep meat, cheeses, pickles, and, of course, cod —which appears in different versions. Created by the chef, the Wellington recipe is made with fish.

SPANISH
THE IBERIAN MARKET
The modern house plays music by Julio Iglesias to reinforce the Spanish atmosphere of the environment. To start, there’s gazpacho with shrimp and ham (R$45). Pork rice with shrimp and braised pork shank (R$84) is one of the main options. It has an emporium of European products.

PAELLAS PEPE
Since 1999 in the Ipiranga neighborhood, the restaurant was founded by the Spaniard José Gutiérrez Espin, known as Pepe. Paella, a rice and seafood dish popular in Spain, is the star of the house. The recipe named after the founder’s nickname is prepared with shrimp, squid, mussels, chicken, vegetables and rice — it is served all-you-can-eat for R$95 per person.

TANIT
The kitchen is led by the Catalan chef Oscar Bosch, at the head of Nit Bar de Tapas. On a platter shaped like a pig, croquettes of Iberian ham are served with spicy chorizo mayonnaise and crispy ham (R$36). It appears among the main suckling pigs cooked at low temperature with an emulsion of charred carrots and garlic farofa (R$ 132).

GREEK
ACROPOLIS
He resides in Bom Retiro, which is one of the most traditional addresses for Greek cuisine, in operation since 1959. One of the most emblematic dishes is moussaka, which comes in a meat or vegetarian version (R$ 42). Among other orders there is also roasted lamb (R$ 65).

ACHILLES TABERN
One sentence defines the place well: a journey along the Mediterranean coast. Chef Rodolfo de Santis operates the helm, who takes the customer mainly to Greece. On the menu is moussaka, with roasted eggplant stuffed with rib ragu au gratin with mozzarella cheese and parmesan (R$59). Sea bass carpaccio with Italian tomato and pistachio (R$55) and horse rib croquette (R$39) also appear.

KOUZINA
Second brand by chef Mariana Fonseca, who also owns Myk, features Greek cuisine classics and also some signature recipes, such as grilled squid stuffed with spinach and feta (R$98). Among the most popular are the Myk salad: leaves, goat cheese, raw ham, figs, pine nuts and honey (R$78), which is also available at Myk.

MYK
After living in Greece and falling in love with the country’s cuisine, Mariana Fonseca opened the restaurant, which is now ten years old. Among the dishes she prepares are grilled squid with cooked broad beans, bacon and salsa verde (R$ 120), part of a hearty fish and seafood section. Another option is pork belly with tomato, fries and tzatziki (classic cucumber and yogurt salad), for R$136.

GREEK DISH
It started in 2016 as a tent selling food at a Greek culture party in Bom Retiro — until it became a restaurant in 2020. pork or falafel, yogurt sauce, tomato and french fries (R$33). To sweeten it up, try the kurabiê, a buttery biscuit with almonds (R$4.50), along with a Greek coffee (R$15).

FLORINE SWITZERLAND
It was born from the desire to reproduce the family recipes brought by Rosalie, mother of Cristina and Monica Häfelim, who was born in the Swiss capital. On Thursdays, they serve a raclette buffet with salads and charcuterie (R$110). For cold days, the order is the fondue chinoise, with meat cooked in vegetable broth, accompanied by sausages and pickles (R$ 180, for two).
