Specifically, as stated in the announcement, administrative fines are imposed for the distribution of products and fuels with a higher profit margin than that allowed by law
Administrative fines of a total amount of 138,725.44 euros are imposed, by decisions of the Minister of Development, Kostas Skrekas, on the company “AUTOPLUS ACCESSORIES AEEEE” and on 12 liquid fuel stations, as checks by the Interdepartmental Market Control Unit (DIMEA) found that they violated the texts provisions on unfair profit-making (Law 4818/2021).
Specifically, as stated in the announcement, administrative fines are imposed for the distribution of products and fuels with a higher profit margin than that allowed by law
– to the company “AUTOPLUS ACCESSORIES AEEEE” in the amount of 78,725.44 euros
-and in 12 gas stations, 9 in Kefalonia, 2 in Thessaloniki and 1 in Attica, for a total amount of 60,000 euros.
It should be pointed out that under the law, the publication of the trade name of companies that violate the applicable measures to reduce the phenomenon of unfair profit taking takes place in cases where the administrative fine exceeds 50,000 euros or it is a fraudulent company, regardless of the amount of the fine.
In addition, it is recalled that, according to the legislation, businesses have the right to appeal before the administrative courts.
In his statements, the Minister of Development, Mr. Skrekas, pointed out:Tight controls throughout the supply chain for profiteering are paying off. We are imposing fines approaching 140,000 euros on 13 companies in the fuel and car goods sector, proving that the State with its control mechanisms is effectively exercising its supervisory role in the market for the benefit of consumers.
I want to emphasize once again that in this difficult situation everyone needs to rise to the occasion and support the Greek family. As a government we believe in the free market, not in the unscrupulous market and as the Ministry of Development we are implementing the express order of Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis to be absolutely strict against offenders».
