Priest in a parish in the hinterland of Heraklion has been under the microscope of the police authorities lately, as they were found in his possession old pictures which were not recorded but also large amounts of money!

As the same information sources say, it all started a few months ago, when – using relevant information about “strange parcels which he received mainly through courier services” – police officers carried out an investigation, both at the church where he is a vicar, and at the priest’s home.

The information says that they were spotted in the temple images that were not recorded and which were confiscated, in order to investigate whether they fall under the antiquities law.

At the same time, in the priest’s house, in a different area of ​​the interior, a large sum of money was found, in the order of 150 – 170 thousand euros. The money, as reported, was found hidden in various places. Among other things, according to the same information, money was found in pots and food containers!

The images were examined by specialist scientists of the Ephorate of Antiquities of Heraklion, who decided that they are indeed very old. It is now being investigated how these were found in the church where the priest worked and also the origin of the cash that was hidden in his house.

A case file is being filed for the case and developments are expected.
