Citizens strongly advised to take extra care – New meeting today, Monday – Where the bad weather will hit
The entire Civil Protection mechanism is on high alert, as underlined by the Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection, Vassilis Kikilias at the emergency meeting held at the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection regarding the impending severe weather phenomena.

At the end of the meeting, it was decided to hold a new meeting today, Monday, immediately after the update of the Emergency Bulletin of Dangerous Weather Phenomena (EDEKF) by the National Meteorological Service.
Mr. Kikilias emphasized to all participants the need to be fully prepared, so that the necessary preventive measures are taken and any problems that may arise due to the upcoming hazardous weather events.
Mr. Kikilias requested that special attention be shown since the dangerous phenomena will affect most areas of the country.
In the context of the meeting it was decided to activate 112if it is deemed necessary to send warning messages to specific areas depending on the evolution of the phenomena.
At the same time, it addresses strong recommendation to citizens to be very careful, to follow the instructions of the authorities and to take all the necessary self-protection measures, in accordance with the instructions of the Public Health Service.
The meeting held by the minister, V. Kikilia, was attended by the Deputy Minister of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection Evangelos Tournas, the Chief of the Fire Brigade Lt. Gen. George Pournaras, the Commander of ESKEDIK Lt. Gen. Theodoros Vayas, the head of the Order Branch Lt. Gen. George Michalopoulos, the commander teacher of EMY Brigadier General Spyridonas Barsakis, the director of EMY Theodoros Kolidas and a scientific team of meteorologists, as well as the regional governors of Central Macedonia Apostolos Tzitzikostas, Attica, Georgios Patoulis, Thessaly Konstantinos Agorastos, Central Greece Fanis Spanos, the deputy regional governor of Western Greece Charalambos Bonanos, the Regional Coordinator of Civil Protection of the Peloponnese Vassilios Hatzis, the Head of the Autonomous Directorate of Civil Protection of the Ionian Islands Georgios Naoum and the Vice President of the Civil Protection Committee of the KEDE Vlasis Siomos.
According to the Emergency Bulletin of Dangerous Weather Phenomena (EDEKF) issued today by the National Meteorological Service, the weather in our country will worsen with heavy rains and storms that will be accompanied by hail and a high frequency of lightning, with increased winds and a noticeable drop in temperature. A barometric low from the northern Balkans with cold air masses is predicted to move south (to the southern Ionian) and will affect most areas of our country.
Thessaly, Sporades, central and eastern Sterea, northern Evia and the Peloponnese will receive the highest amounts of rain.
