The graduation ceremony of 14 non-commissioned officers of the port force – nine women and five men – directly classified in the field of Health, took place today in the outdoor area of the building of the Ministry of Shipping in the presence of the responsible minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis.

“As of today, he is part of this great family that has a hundred years of history and has won the trust of the Greek people. Because in the face of every port guard, every member of the Corps, he sees three things. A tireless guard of our country’s maritime borders, a supporter in every islander and traveler, an executive who serves perhaps in the most competitive part of the Greek economy, that of Greek shipping,” emphasized the Minister of Shipping.

Mr. Varvitsiotis emphasized that the mission of the Coast Guard cannot be carried out without the necessary provisions to support the staff through health coverage and care, but of course also with the provision of modern and appropriate means to achieve the goal.

The ceremony was officiated by the Pilot Protopresbyter Father Dimitrios Varsamidis, while the Deputy Minister of Shipping and Insular Policy Ioannis Pappas and the leadership of the port corps were present.
