Controls in 37 offices associations of football team fans, the Greek Police carried out the last four days (from September 1 to 4), in the context of the intensive implementation of the action against violence with a sports background, acting on multiple levels.

According to a statement issued on Tuesday morning, between last Friday and Monday, the Sub-Directorate for Combating Violence in Sports Venues of the Attica Security Directorate conducted searches in 37 offices of team supporters’ liaisons in Attica, in the presence of judicial representatives.

The investigations were carried out specifically in areas of Athens, in Zografou, Petralona, ​​Patisia, Peristeri, Kamatero, Kallithea, Pagrati, Gyzi, Galatsi, Kypseli, Nea Ionia, Agios Panteleimonas, Petroupoli, Ano Liosia, Piraeus, Perama, Keratsini, Nikaia, Kaminia , Exarchia, Cholargo, Marousi, Glyka Nera, Megara, Aspropyrgo, Aegaleo, Markopoulo and Oropo.

A number of crackers were found and seized. It was found that a liaison office was operating without a license from the competent Authority. For 9 places, their operation as links – funeral parlors has ceased (however, 7 still bear the insignia of groups), so the procedures were initiated to locate the owners, so that they can proceed with the restoration of the facades of the buildings. For the rest of the sites, the legality of their operation is checked.

As it points out in its announcement, EL.AS. will continue in this direction, intensifying controls and acting preventively and repressively, both in the playing fields, on the days of sporting events, and away from them.
