Yesterday, the captain, the lieutenant, the chief and the master of the Blue Horizon apologized for the murder of 36-year-old Antonis Karyotis.

After a marathon apology, the governor and the captain were sentenced to prison.

In fact, the master who was accused of dangerous interference in maritime traffic was additionally prosecuted for fatal exposure to danger.

Existence: Takes a share of responsibility but does not accept the charge of manslaughter.

As he argued, Antonis slipped on the claw of the catapult – as himself – and he didn’t have time to save him as the ship had already moved away and when he turned his head a little he saw the 36-year-old already dead from the swirling waters.

However, the governor maintained that he notified the captain in time.

Master: The defendant stated that he was devastated and that he did not know that there had been an altercation on the catapult.

As he testified, at 9.12 he requested permission to sail, at 9.13 he was informed that the ship was in the way and at 9.14 he heard the captain’s voice calling him on the radio captain-captain. Then instinctively he turned to the catapult camera and he saw a man “who had almost” fallen into the sea.
