For the ninth day the urban complex of Volos remains without drinking water, due to the apocalypse and the almost complete destruction of the water supply network of the capital of Magnesia, which is the major problem for the return to normality.

DEYA Meizonos Volos crews are making efforts to repair the damage to the pumping stations and the network, while a proposal has also been submitted by EYDAP of Athens, which co-assists DEYAMB, for the installation of a speed-refining mechanism, in order to solve this important issue and to supply water to the city of Volos with drinking water.

The same time, part of Volos is intermittently supplied with non-potable water, only for domestic use, with the Municipality of Volos overemphasizing that the water is not potable.

The cleaning of the city from the thousands of tons of mud continues by crews of the Municipality of Volos, both in the center and in the districts affected by the floods such as the Old Port Authority, Palaia, Agios Panteleimonas, Neapoli, Papadiamantis.

Another serious problem facing the city of Volos is the white powder, suspended in the atmosphere from the dried mud that has accumulated on the roads and is dissolved by the movement of cars and that is why experts recommend the use of a surgical mask to the population.

Road connections to East Pelion have been restored, but the movement of large vehicles is impossible and the concern remains as to how the thousands of tons of apples and chestnuts produced in the Zagora area will be transported to the markets after the destruction of so many important infrastructures and especially the road construction.

Corresponding restorations of the road network have also been made towards South Pelion, but in this area too, the movement of large and heavy vehicles is impossible.

Due to the storm and the floods, huge damages were caused to houses and businesses and according to the deputy governor of Magnesia, Dorothea Kolyndrini, it is estimated that more than 250 cars have been destroyed or have been swept into the sea and that is why divers were searching the bottom of the sea in Platanias, Mikros and other areas to locate potential trappers.

In Pagasitikos the picture is disappointing due to the floating materials floating on the surface of the sea and the Central Port Authority continues to draw attention to all boats moving in the area, while swimming is impossible on many coasts and beaches due to the accumulation of the carried materials brought down by the torrents from the mountains.

There is still no rail connection between Volos and Larissa, since both the rail network and the tracks at the Volos train station have been heavily damaged.

Tourism has dropped to zero in Volos and Pelion, in a period when occupancy in hotels reached 90% and the economic damage is incalculable, according to the Chamber of Magnesia, since hotels, restaurants, taverns, traditional tsipouradis, bakeries, many supermarkets are not working , while shops and businesses have been destroyed by the waters that overwhelmed them.
