It took just two and a half days to recreate Carla Lake to her size, as she was before her its drying up in 1962, when the authorities then drained the water for a year and a half. The above disclosure was made on Wednesday by Mayor of Killeler Thanasis Nasiakopouloswho in dramatic tones called on the government to take initiatives in order not to drown adjacent villages, first of all Sotirios.

As Mr. Nasiakopoulos pointed out, if the level of Karla rises another 60 cm, the village of Sotirio will be flooded first. However, he clarified that beyond the initial flooding phenomena, at the moment there is no village flooded in the Municipality of Killeler.

“As the Municipality of Killeler, today we officially submitted that a solution be given by qualified people because what the Municipality could do in cooperation with the Region. From now on, we are not able to deal with such phenomena” explained Mr. Nasiakopoulos.

Shocking ending the estimate that more than 350,000 acres of cultivated land have been destroyed by the floods in the Municipality of Killeler.
