It shocks the father of the 20-year-old who was admitted to the hospital with tonsillitis and ended up having a seizure – “The doctors were reassuring. In no case was her life in danger, they told us”
Her father wants to know the truth about the death of his 20-year-old daughter who passed away after being admitted to the University Hospital of Ioannina with tonsillitis.
Speaking on the SKAI show “The Deceased” the father of the unfortunate girl mentioned that it is possible that the doctors at the hospital did not give the necessary attention as the treatment given to the 20-year-old for days had no results.
“I ask to know the reason why this evil happened. I don’t know if the doctors due to workload did not pay the necessary attention. When you have a pristine, healthy child who can respond to any treatment and the child doesn’t respond, shouldn’t someone act?” wonders the 20-year-old’s father.
“All the previous days they had the child with a simple antibiotic and cortisone, the child did not respond to the treatments,” he said and continued: “When you have a child whose tonsils are choked with pus and the treatments are not working, you should not are you looking better, that something is wrong with the child? The doctors were reassuring. In no case was her life in danger, they told us.”
In fact, Mr. Antonis mentioned that one day before the 20-year-old suffered a seizure and passed away, the doctors had her waiting for hours for a CT scan.
“On the last day, the eve of the child’s death, we were told that we would do a CT scan to see if there was an abscess. They had fasted the child, the little girl had atrophied because due to the swelling of her throat she could not eat for so many days. They had her waiting for the x-ray. From the morning, the axial scan was done in the afternoon, in the evening. We were calling to find out the results. The doctors were reassuring,” he said, while as he said afterwards they also had disagreements with each other.
“Without wanting to accuse anyone, I want the investigations to be done first, the answers to come out from the forensic examination that was done and if there are responsibilities to be attributed” said Mr. Antonis.
He also confirmed that a friend of his daughter was admitted to the hospital at the same time with the same symptoms. At first, as my daughter said, she took care of him because he was in a worse condition than that. “Eventually the child was discharged and my daughter ended up,” she said.
D. Galenderis: The acute purulent tonsillitis was in full progress
Speaking on the show, the medical examiner of the family, D. Kalenderis, said that “we will have to be patient until the analyzes of the girl’s tissues and blood are completed. We found that the acute purulent tonsillitis was in full progress which, as it turns out, became a systemic extension and her body collapsed.”
